"For his first solo exhibition at the Copenhagen gallery Last Resort, Barcelona-based digital artist and designer Andres Reisinger created more than 50 different 3D renderings for exhibition proposals before settling, with gallery director Peter Amby, on the final concept. Called “Job Interview,” the exhibition is meant to evoke an interview’s feeling of discomfort, and it features a monumental pink recycled PVC sphere that takes up a portion of the gallery space, leaving little room for exhibition-goers. By showing images of both the final exhibition and the 58 proposals online, however, the show also brings up a relatively thorny question: How much does the final exhibition concept actually matter if most people are going to view the exhibition only virtually online?"

The letter that Andrés wrote to Peter (Last Resort owner)

Dear Peter,

I would like to introduce you my new show with an image of a space I have specially created. I think it’s a great example of unforeseeable nothing. What Bergson calls the “unforeseeable nothing which is everything in a work of art,” an unforeseeable nothing that takes time.

It reminds me of a 1991 lecture by John Cleese (of Monty Python) on creativity, in which two of the five required factors he lists are time.

In this time of extreme over-stimulation, I have entitled this exhibition « Job Interview » .

A term used in the industry of productive time and efficiency, but reinterpreted as a sculpture that makes you feel the same uncomfortable situation from moment one. Under the pressures, which are all too familiar to us, we tend to maintain tunnel vision at times when we really need to step back and contemplate the wider view.

There’s also a compilation of all the work I have developed for the creation of this exhibition. I kind of feel weak showing all what has been going in my mind during the last 3 months, and by accepting that weakness it erases any kind of friction between me and the work.

This is how the name of this show came to me. Job Interview is me creating a selection of received excitation during a specific period of time. Which we may all agree with Bergson.
