The writer and activist Rosa Luxemburg spent years in prison because of her opposition to the first world war, and was an outspoken critic of Marxism. Due to her strong opinions and ideas during the Spartacus Revolt, she was caught in Berlin by conservative paramilitary forces known as the Free Corps, and was later murdered in January 1919.
Malala Yousafzai

As a young girl, Malala Yousafzai defied the Taliban in Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. She was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in 2012 but survived. In 2014, she became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
