KODON

Kodon is Wheaton College Art & Literary Publication. A letter from the Editor-in-Chief: "The title of this campus literary magaine, Kodon, comes from the Greek word for "bell." It was selected to allude to the Blanchard bell which marks the hours for everyone on campus. Bells bring everyone together - for worship, for celebrations, for class. Bells remind us of our mortality, of the measured nature of our lives, as they ring out the passing hours. Bells punctuate our daily routines with moments of music. Each of our selections in this issue rings like a bell. Allow each peice to strike you with its initial tone. Listen to the still-warm echoes of each peice as they reverberate within your thoughts, your actions, your daily experiences, give each poem story, and work of art room to resonate.

The theme of the book was chosen to juxtapose the previous semester's edition. Last semester's was characterized by sign language and a natural feel. As you will see in this issue, the theme of a record player has been chosen to place an emphasis on the fact that music selections were made this year for the first time. In addition, nearly the entire book is printed white on black - the complete opposite of before.

Enjoy the fruits of my labor & the work of other talented creatives.

Thermography was added to the divder pages to give the record texture, as seen above.
