This is my Senior Thesis Project from 2012. The child of a cat kills mice is the literal translation of the Spanish saying "el hijo de un gato ratones mata" which actually means "like father like son" In this series, I have collected family photographs that my father took throughout my childhood. He took them as a father preserving memories, but throughout his life, he has had a interest in photography. I decided to follow in my father's footsteps and retake the photos and show them as interiors, landscapes and still lives. The abscence of the figures shows how a photographic eye is hereditary despite the purpose on the photograph. Using photoshop, I edited the newer photos to resemble the originals as a way to preserve the feeling of nostalgia that the orginals inspire.
