Norwegian Wood, a novel by Harukami explores the concept of love and loss from a first-person point of view from Wantanbe. There is a constant suspended grief throughout the story after a sudden suicide where all feelings are confused, lost and complicated. I explored using lines and texture to simulate this feeling. Grunge texture was used in the final outcome as an important design element to depict a faded and jaded memory.
