It costs to be a woman. Having a period is a hefty cost that half the population will never have to pay. 

While we only see the "pink tax" for sanitary pads, tampons etc. there is a huge chunk of the population that cannot even afford the basic necessities every month. In Pakistan, minimum wage is Rs.300 per day while the cheapest sanitary pads cost Rs.199 per pack. And so many women turn to other alternatives for the lack of a better option within their budget. 


It's time to check our privilege. 
It's time to make female health more affordable for everyone. Period.
