A branding project I did as a student at NKF, Norwegian School of Creative studies. Our customer was Heimen, a store dedicated to traditional Norwegian arts and crafts. To mark their 100 year aniversary they wanted to make a daughter brand called Create Norway. The sub brand was for a younger more modern audience but still capture the traditional norwegian design idea.

I decided to change the name from Create Norway to Noko av Noreg (Noko of Norway). Noko means "something" so translated it would be "Something of Norway". The brand was meant to cover a large variety of things; sosial media and websites in which norwegian designers meet and mingle, talks and exhibitions, posters and postalia. So by joining the news letter about new norwegian design or going to the exhibiton you would get a little bit of Noray, Noko of Norway.

None of the photos belong to me.
The logo text is custom made and inspired by traditional Norwegian floral painting and geometick viking wood carvings.
Heimen wanted the brand to look young and modern but stil have a hint back to norwegian design tratition. The green color is a hint back to the mother brand Heimes, that has a green logo, but also to give it a youthfull and "loud" feeling.
