International Students Studying in the UK
Every year hundreds of thousands of international students come to the UK for studying higher education at various institutes. The challenge of moving to a new country and adapting has not always been the easiest especially for those new to the UK culture and lifestyle. This project focused on opening a bank for new Malaysian international students coming to study in the UK.
User Research
From conducting user research and learning from their experiences of opening a bank account in the UK, it was found to not be as straightforward despite most banks having the same procedure to open an account. This was due to documentation issues, banks not having enough appointments and a non-friendly user experience. This meant there was an opportunity to redesign a signup banking experience to improve the process and making it easier.
Raya Bank
Taking inspiration from local Malaysian snacks, culture and imagery, I designed Raya Bank with a welcome kit for new Malaysian students to help settle in the UK through nostalgic and familiarity of graphics and styles.
The welcome kit includes a welcome note, the bank card, 3 key chain tokens and a custom packaging to contain it all together.
