Blue Two Magpie Pattern
This pattern design is created for fashion accessories and homeware. The bird is inspired by the exquisite Taiwanese blue magpie. I have been extensively researching and illustrating wild animals from the UK. However, I am originally from Taiwan, so I wanted to create some art prints that display beautiful native animals from my country. In this project I drew tropical leaves and floral elements to create the atmosphere. A well known British rhyme refers to two magpies, "One for sorrow, Two for joy...". For me, this pattern design is a mix of cultural concepts - like myself living in London. I am so passionate about my work and really enjoyed bringing this project to life. I have experimented with a variety colours to see the different looks on this print.
