- a graduation project held in Helwan University, Egypt -
Duat                                                                                                                                        In ancient Egyptian mythology, Duat is the underworld or the realm of the dead. It is the home of the god Osiris, Anubis, Thoth, Horus, Hathor, and Ma’at. The most important function of the Duat however is that it is where people’s souls go for judgment after death.

An Architectural Adventure
Aims to highlight a very specific, untouched part of the ancient Egyptian civilization, that part is: The philosophy of living after death and what happens in the realm of the Dead

Attain Immortality                                                                                                                  When the ancient Egyptians were one of the first civilizations that believed in life after death, these beliefs had the greatest impact on the daily life of the ancient Egyptian, and it was the main -if not the only- reason for the prosperity of all related arts with the otherworld such as tombs architecture, sculpture and mummification science. Therefore, those beliefs have produced this great legacy of remnants of civilization, which is being highlighted today in all museums of the world, ignoring the real reason behind this legacy.

Duat Museum                                                                                                                        An attempt to reveal the secrets of the ancient Egyptian religion and an invitation to provide a unique experience for visitors to experience the journey of the otherworld - the greatest Egyptian beliefs - in pursuit of the most important objectives of the ancient Egyptian, Immortality. Not only by exhibits but by using the architectural meanings of the space to express different feelings and situations during this journey.
