Final Sculpture
From order into chaos then back again into order. This represents how even when we branch off from the norm and try to make our own, we still work together to get to knew heights while keeping an order.
The base of this sculpture is chaotic but then forms into an ordered branch reaching further.
Another view
Another angle of the whole
The solid forest
Another close up
Painting 230 individual sticks was tedious but a fun task.
The paint treatment consisted of a light gray base with a three color wet rag scummble on top. Then the tips were painted gold while the edges were spray painted black and then wiped away on the tips to keep the gold. Finally gold was brushed on the corners of the sticks and smudged to help break up hard lines.
A fun perspective
After all the hard work there was something satisfying about nocking over my stack.

Description:
Using simply lines and continues shape as my order and then using the form as chaotic energy. This piece is supposed to have different movement from each different point of view. This will hopefully be tall enough to walk under and painted to look like stone and rusted screws where it is attached.

Description:
Deciding to go with the movement piece from my rapid prototypes, I asked friends and family to sketch a line of movement that I can animate with linear pieces.
Mom's doodle - looking at how differently people can create a simple line my mom's line is very simple and smooth.
John's doodle - my stepdad line is very angry and chaotic. But he is not an angry and chaotic person.
Tyler's sketch - my little brother likes to mimic my stepdad.
Matthew Sketch #1 - My friend is an artist that is obsessed with line quality and had to redraw each one 3 times.
Assignment: Rapid Prototype
Rapid Prototype: Skewers, scrap fabric, hot glue
