Leading folio for Design Communications 1 project in the style of "Texas Montlhly" magazine. That 70's Show project was the culmination of what was (for me) pretty much a struggle to learn Indesign. It finally began to set in and using it got a little easier as time went by, but I still have a lot to learn about the program. I think after revising the intiial, awkward looking piece, I got it looking not too bad here. At any rate, got to love Texas and certainly got to love Willy Nelson. Layout 2 follows.
This is an exercise in magazine style advertising for the South Texas oil and gas industry that emphasizes the need for managing water resources. The "Salty Dog" is a symbol for the company that is advertising its services. Same advertisement series below.
This hapless fellow sometimes gets upset when he hears his favorite music, Mariachi music. He is part of a series of 3 advertisements that I call "the nuclear family" because they are sort of explosive. The idea is that we don't know why hearing Mariachi Los Romanticos'  music brings tears to his eyes. Could it be that he misses his ex-wife or is it just that she gives him such a hard time. At any rate, music makes life better.
This must be "mama". She doesn't seem to be too bothered by anything. Romance isn't in the picture with her.
Can't go wrong with a couple of innocents like we have here. They rattle to the sounds of mariachi.
