"Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."

This piece is entitled Senza, which is Italian for without. I was inspired by the humble position of the beggars in Italy and wanted to explore the beauty of their posture. In front of the beggar is spilt wine and bread crumbs, referring to the lack of provision the Church seems to provide both physically and spiritually for those less fortunate in this day and age.

This piece is a rendereed graphite transformation drawing combining an accordian and playing cards.  I wanted to play on the idea of transformation being like a magic trick and a form of entertainment, so I chose to combine a classic magician's tool and a fun vintage instrument.

This piece, created using both print and script, is composed of the words of Psalm 139:

"For you created my inmost being;
     you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
     your works are wonderful,
     I know that full well."
