Rainbow Mountains by Elisabeth Picard

Rainbow Mountains from Elisabeth Picard
Elisabeth Picard was born in Montreal in 1981.
Rainbow Mountains / 2015 / Dyed self-locking tie wraps / Collection of the artist

Elisabeth Picard bases her work on aesthetic and formal investigation. She reinterprets architectural works, landscape and the organisms around us.
The artist created this hanging landscape using dyed tie wraps. In this work, she alludes to nature and topography by means of objects made of plastic, a material that is extremely harmful for the environment. Usually throw away once used, here, plastic tie wraps are given the status of the kind of « noble » material worthy of an artwork.

Personally, I found this work of art very inspiring and photographing it was a pleasure. I could have taken a thousand pictures and all would have been different. I congratulate the Artist, Elisabeth Picard.
