BWM X SLIDE concept is a vision of BWM of distant future. What about BMW? This brand has one of the strongest identity in whole automotive history. DNA of brand reflects that it's something alive, strong, fast and very natural (animalistic). It can be compared with a flash of light in the dark of Space. This object was received some mood inspiration features from lighting illumination and internal glow of objects in architecture. In the same time, the main shapes of the vehicle were taken from lamps and lighting devices.
The main idea of objects is finding something unusual and futuristic but at the same time familiar, simple and clean. Overall I find something incredible as inspiration in floating objects and slide transformations and it was shown in the morphology of vehicle. The roof is floating above the main volume of the car. It creates a dynamic silhouette and slide-attitude. One of the main parts of the design is recreating familiar radiator grill. This vehicle does not have a petrol engine and the need to use analog grille disappears. There was shown a decision of building in grill-shapes into the car body structure. You can see an outline of the grill in front of vehicle and roof shapes. Together it is creates closed-loop of original DNA's grill-shape.
