My interpretation of the characters from "Ella Enchanted" by Gail Carson Levine.
One of my favorite childhood books is "Ella Enchanted" by Gail Carson Levine. For this class project, I wanted to illustrate some of my favorite characters--the two stepsisters and stepmother--in my own style.
Dame Olga: she's described as a large lady with golden tresses, two spots of rouge, and a voice as sweet and sticky as honey, but she smells like spoiled milk. I've always imagined her as a woman who wants to have the appearance of being wealthy and attractive, but can't really cover her hideous personality.
Olive is described as a plump girl with a face blank as a potato and thin curls plastered to her head. Olive, in comparison to her sister, is the less intelligent sister. I gave her some caveman qualities to emphasize her low IQ.
She's also the glutton of the family.
Hattie is just like her mother, except more rabbit-like with two large front teeth. And she's a little more sneaky. She knows how to manipulate others, and tries to make the prince fall in love with her. Thank goodness the prince sees right through her!
