My Grandmother's House
This is the house where my grandparents lived, where my father lived for some years, and where I passed many evenings of my youth. A very special place where I used to find something: books, magazines, toys, clothes, pictures, photographs… Objects from a period totally unknown for me, but having them there, in front of me and around me, they made me feel like being in a time of history that wasn’t mine. In this way, through those objects, those rooms, I felt like belonging to that past… I was fascinated by this because it was like living two periods at the same time. Each of these images drives me to my childhood moments in which I played, I search all the corners and I’ve laughed innocently. Maybe this is why I can’t help feeling sad when I see them, for many evenings which will not come back. Though, on the other side, I smile with each of them because they remind me a part of my childhood in a place which has connected me to it for the curiosity I felt for everything that surrounded me. A place which today still remains untouched, as my grandmother left it...
