In the midst of an unforgiving battle for survival, there is no room for mistakes. Only the strongest will have what it takes to survive and reach the pinnacle of glory. Victory or defeat, all depends on the skills of the fighters. On the fine line between life and death, the fighters have to pass an important test. They have to face their life's biggest enemies: their own selves.

Kill or be killed? Glory or failure? A happy ending is not for the weak. Will the fighters have the power to decide their own fates?

Official Promotional Video for the GLORIOUS MISSION competition, hosted by Garena Lien Quan Mobile. This is a prestigious e-sports competition created by Garena - which is a steppingstone for Vietnamese players to qualify for SEA Games 30 and international competitions.

Storyboards

With an animated project that has several technically demanding action, combating scenes, the production process is a challenging journey. Within it, are the essential stages of storyboarding or pencil test.

Storyboarding is the first and foremost development stage that the artists at DeeDee Animation Studio take, to turn ideas, from being merely words on a script, into storytelling images. By this, we can test out camera angles, as well as the rhythm of the film. The storyboard is then constructed into an animatic - the first draft of a film.

From storyboard to final video

Meanwhile, the Pencil Test is a stage where we put together the animations into a black & white composition so that the directors can judge its quality before the final rendering. By going through all these steps, 'Glorious Mission' has an outstanding animation standard. This project also shows significant improvement in our animating techniques, which prompts us to be hopeful for more top-quality animation projects in the future.

The story follows a group of fighters, who have to survive the tests, which include facing against their own selves, in order to become the champion, and reach the pinnacle of glory.

With an action-packed narrative, which required advanced animating techniques, our team of animators at DeeDee Animation Studio had the opportunity to experiment with a number of visual effects. Each frame of the film was carefully designed and edited, with the purpose of delivering to our audiences a visually satisfying experience.
