Mill & Grill (Lorenz)

The final solution to making this logo was going with a clean, text busy logo, but also a simple rustic type of feel. The rising sun above the main text gives light to the breakfast feel, early morning feel, while the whole body of the logo is in the general shape of an egg, also pertaining to breakfast. I also stuck with only two colors to keep it very simple, and not confusing. I went with the red because you see a lot of old red barns in the country side, which is usually partnered with the dark browns, more earthy tones. The texture on the Mill & Grill, mainly to give it more readability, but it also looks like grill marks.

This logo would work well on most things mainly due to its shape. It keeps a nice tight shape that would look great on menu’s, shirts, hats, etc... The handwritten type also is connected to the “Farm Fresh Everyday” slogan, more of humanistic feel. The type that was used for “Mill & Grill” is a hand-written text by me that was further developed into the main text. The more handwritten text is Vervain, run at a 2 point style.
