The contest is about extending a traditional wooden house with architectural value, located in rural (or urban - exposed in the open air museums in the country) to pursue its transformation into a home of our time / future. The house that the contestant has chosen as the object of intervention, can be in any state (functional / abandoned, with or without degradation). The proposed minimum volume requires to accommodate additional functions (living room / bedroom, bathroom, etc.). The functional scheme proposed may involve (but not necessarily) convertions in the old building. The proposed intervention may be attached or detached, visible or hidden, retained / dramatic to existing construction. [the approach will be explained by competitors to describe the concept].
'CONTEST OF IDEAS WITH VISIBLE DETAILS' is part of the series of activities that performs interactive exhibitions ATELIERU ' DE LEMN, addressing primarily students and young architects in the country. The purpose of the contest is to identify nationally, examples of good practice in using traditional wooden constructions, aiming to call into question the need to hire crafts and art in the current building process.
