Coffee Milk Despenser

Self-Assessment
In my second year at university I believe I have developed greatly as a designer. In regards to the start of the year in which I was very limited as too what I thought good design was. I simply hadn’t had enough experience in knowing which design problems were relevant or significant and how to tackle these design issues. Throughout the 2nd year through working on projects it has become a lot easier to create products and ideas. Working in groups has helped me broaden my horizons and to understand different perspectives by highlighting weaknesses and strengths of different concepts and developments to ultimately achieve the best product and a more forward and creative thinking to design.
In this year my skills as a product designer have improved not only from concept creation but my sketches have improved in the fact that they are clear and concise. I try to highlight the most important points with arrows and show the user the function just by looking at the sketches rather than making them guess what they do. My aim is to make them understand the product at a glance. My 3D CAD skills have improved vastly it is very useful to be able to create a 3D representation of your product as it allows you and your group to see what it would actually look like and the renders make your work look a lot more professional.  Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator have also been very useful this year and have again helped me achieve a professional look for my work and the groups work too.
Next year I would like to continue growing as a designer and developing all my skills further. I would like to focus on trying to create a better portfolio and more professional looking work. This will be very useful for the future. I also want to create my own distinctive design style to try and make my work seem more unique.
