Snapchat was in need of a captions refresh in addition to our Classic and Big Text. Captions is one of our most used creative tools. The updated captions would be a strong, cohesive set with increased legibility and covering a range of different styles for our users. Label is our most legible, thus the first in rotation. We wanted to introduce a condensed typeface for our Glow caption to create contrast among the other styles. Glow is the defaulted to all caps. Rainbow is a staple in our Snapchat diet. Our previous Rainbow caption was among the most used style but was in need of an upgrade. The new Rainbow caption lives up to its full potential and has a kawaii effect. The set of captions was then translated into several languages.
