The semiotic modes of representation are:
Icon—a digital photographic self-portrait.
Index—a 2d digital scan of an appropriate 3d object.
Symbol—a digital conversion of an original relief print—an initial + numeral = a lettermark.

These words represent elements of my personality and act as a promise for what is inside. My name acts as a signature on the back page.
My scanned objects, or index, are mini succulents from my plant collection. The exposed roots represent my curiosity and pursuit of knowledge while the color manipulation represents my eccentricity and playfulness.
A close up of the relief print, or symbol, consisting of an "e" and a "1" which is my first initial and birth order. The stairs school my curiosity while the bird shape at the top represents my love for nature and quirk.

My portrait features me at my most natural; playful and silly! My ligature has a bit of whimsy and playfulness to it as well, representing my love for nature, curiosity and pursuit of knowledge.
