Week 5: Image 18: "Spread". This is the third self-portrait for my abstract self-portrait series featuring spreadable condiments. The materials used in this painting were peanut butter, Vegemite, jam and butter. The respective color palette for this painting is light brown, black, pink and cream. This portrait was accomplished through the use of kitchen spoons and knives, applying painting techniques to provide unique patters in the spreads. A notable example of this is the Vegemite on the right side of the face, using long parallel lines to provide a shadow look.
