The Student Publication is created by the students of the College of Design at NC State University. It serves as a platform for issues relevant to the student body and presents an ongoing critical dialogue between designers and students.
This is the latest issue of The Student Publication, which was first published in 1951. This volume presents several examples of the fruitful interactions occurring where the boundaries between architecture and other disciplines become blurred. The work touches on a broad range of issues that fall on the periphery of the practice of architecture. These issues: ritual, material, community, and education, form areas of exploration in which there is the potential for expanding the boundaries of architecture. The eleven original articles presented here are proof of that potential. To foster this exploration is to foster the innovation which will ultimately expand the reach, relevance, and potential of the profession of architecture.
