Flower Head: watercolour/collage
For this self portrait I have painted, cut and pasted my features to apage and glued dried lavender to my head and face as facial hair. The other features I believe reflect my own well, however as someone with a big head of hair, I wondered how much my identity and appearance would shift without it. With a small mullet of hair, I wouldnt believe this image was supposed to be of me.

Self portrait in watercolour: watercolour.
Similar to "Flower Head". I used cut outs to distinguish my nose, eyes and mouth whilst attempting to remain true to my physical features. This approach I found allowed my to get more definition as opposed to the classic watercolour approach, keeping lines and shapes that may otherwise be blended with the rest of the figure.

Taoe and stramers: craft
This portrait was made from coloured tape to build my face and features, combined withgolden streamers to represent my hair. I really enjoy the textures and shapes that appearred as a whole throughout this image as I worked with the patterns already there. If i were to to this again, I might have pasted some clear printing paper for the whites of my eyes, just to give the features more emphasis.

Long Day: watercolour
This portrait was inspired after a long, very hard day at work at my job as a barista. After a long 9 hours, I came home with a headache, covered in coffee and bags uner my eyes.

Daily mask: painting
When thinking of portraits, I thought of the "mask" that I present to the world on a daily basis. This portrait was painted with my daily makeup routine, including foundation, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencils and eyeliner. As a simple routine, it allowed me to identify the key features of my face and approach an artistic representation of myself in a more abstract way. The colours used in this pallet would be described as natural and earthy which in the context of a "daily mask" are what I would practice in a daily routine as opposed to a special occasion.
