Graham Hay's profile

ceramic paper clay sculpture

These are some of my ceramic paperclay sculptures in a mixture of earthenware, terracotta, and porcelain paper clay.

They reflect my artistic evolution from 1992 to the present.

They illustrate the possibilities of this radical change to the 6-8 century old ceramic art tradition.

Currently in Perth (pop 2m) over a 1/3 of clay used in studios and classrooms  is paper clay.

It's use is about 1/4 of all clay in New Zealand, and use is doubling annually in the US.

I have been one of the active leaders in the development, use and teaching of this material.

I hope this slideshow is educational and inspiring.
