WOMEN WITH BIG IDEAS - series
"Women with big ideas" is a series inspired by the book "A room of one’s own" by Virginia Woolf and it’s a personal artistic reflection on the creative potential of women, which for centuries has been realized only in the few ways granted by patriarchal societies.
Female photos, taken from magazines and old books, represent distinct models of women in different ages. The figure of the woman is therefore defined and crystallized in a precise form determined by her historical and social context, but it only shows her external appearance. Inside every woman there is also a world that is often not visible. This inner world is vibrant and creative, full of colors and ideas. It is represented on the paper with the painting made of different materials mixed together (acrylics, watercolors, pencils, crayons, markers).
