Residing on an urban edge of Des Moines, The Brewery Block establishes a new architecture for a thriving city. As a catalyst for future phases, 390 MLK will begin a long term trend of contemporary urban architecture that fosters activity and pedestrian experience.
 
The building contains three floors of 52 residential units with a mix of 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom units. In addition, there are two commercial spaces on the main floor. The commercial units feature generous outdoor space that communicates well within its urban context.

The first floor plan repeats on the two floors above to create 54 residential units. The two commercial units are situated on the North end of the first floow.
390MLK is the first phase of an overall design plan for a reviving portion of Downtown Des Moines, IA.
As one approaches the site, the new building juxtaposes the architectural character of the orginial Brewery.
