Theme: A poster for integration
As we are both immigrants ourselves and the current debate in countries about immigrants and integration, we felt this theme suited us. With the design we wanted to make people think about immigrants. Things we define now as normal, used to be foreign and probably scary.
Take for example ice cream. Around the world we enjoy eating ice creams nowadays, but it was once first made in China. Immigrants and travelers took this dessert to other parts of the world where it eventually got embraced and considered it's own. We felt that this aspect of immigration is a bit overlooked and that we are starting to forget that immigration can also bring good things instead of only bad news on tv.
