Primordial Forest
Though the landscape of my former home state of Indiana doesn't contain dramatic mountains or expansive ocean shores, the woods have their own gentle beauty. Turkey Run State Park was one of my favorite places to explore in autumn. Over many eons, streams have slowly carved deep ravines through sandstone, and hiking through these gorges filled with the fallen leaves of another year left me with a feeling of wonder and profound respect for ancient natural processes.
