Sustainable design of bathroom furniture using HPL panels.
This project is my Master Thesis work. For six months I worked on:
-theoretical research of bathroom which includes: sociological surveys, exploring of related literature and compilation of statistics
-creation of design
-creation of detailed drawings for manufactory
-search and selection hinges and other furniture fittings
-author's supervision at the production stage
-printed matter: brochure, catalog, technical sheet
First realised prototype:
Furniture set include:
-lower hanging units with variable content. It may be shelves, drawers, organizer for cosmetics, or separate sorting of linen.
-illuminated hanging shelf with mirror moving along.
-hanging shelf with containers for soap and other hygienic supplies
-closed hanger for towels and bathrobe
All facades and worktop was made from HPL compact panels. The HPL panels are water resistant and maintain all physical properties for a long time, surface cannot be scratched or damaged by detergents. Compared with any similar wood based material HPL panels are more long-lived. And this is only with a thickness of 8 mm!
