The Tandem vehicle belongs to the auxiliary group (M1). The idea behind this vechile arises from the fact that 87% of private cars are used only by an average of 1.5 passengers (a passenger and a half).  An average sedan vehicle is powered by a 120hp gas engine and it has a load capacity of around 770kg (1700lb). That amount equals to 5 passengers each weighing 75kg (165lb) plus a 35kg (77lb) of static load per passenger approximately. In addition, this average sedan consumes about 45 Liters of fuel every 630Km in the best road conditions; in other words, 14Km per Liter of fuel.  So, when the average sedan is used only by 1.5 passengers, its overall capacity of load and power is wasted by more than 85%. This means a huge loss in resources, energy, and space.  M1 Tandem is a transportation proposal that intends to counteract the previous fact with a more efficient way of transportation.
The Tandem intends to emulate the same architecture and passenger accommodation as a scooter.  It is powered by a 15Hp 250cc, 4 stroke combustion engine (same as a big scooter), which gives it an autonomy of about 35km per liter.  This packaging allows the vehicle to load about 170kg (375lb), using only the necessary power and fuel for its transportation. 
 
The M1 Tandem has an inner aluminum tubular frame, dressed with a carbon-fibre composite outer body to maximize its lightness.  Also, the front suspension is planned to be designed with a liner system to increase the Tandem´s stability on  curves.
 
The interior is designed in such a way that the user can perceive the same degree of comfort and space of an average sedan vehicle.
