The Long Beach Museum of Art is a modest institution, traditional in it’s architecture, sophisticated in it’s collection. My logo aims at portraying these characteristics in a simplistic yet elegant mark. Using the classic font ‘Didot’, with alterations to the ligatures, enabled me to make a dynamic mark while leaving the sophisticated thick / thin relation of the strokes intact. The color scheme is one hue: deep black, to keep with the idea of prestige and solidity; traits that are expected from establishments that showcase fine art.
