The Pamir Highway in Tajikistan

The M41, also known as the Pamir Highway, is a road across the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan, Central Asia. Its average altitude across the Pamir Mountains is 4000 m. This route has been in use for millennia, as there are a limited number of viable route options through the high Pamir Mountains. M41 is its Soviet name. I had the opportunity to drive across these amazing landscapes along the Chinese border and through the 4,655m high Ak-Baital Pass before crossing into Kyrgyzstan.
