Crawling King Snake

I was approached by singer, song writer & producer George van der Spuy, (ex Taxi Violence frontman), to create the album artwork for his new project entitled Crawling King Snake. The album deals with issues such as dead end jobs, racism & casual love affairs. Sort of like taking a walk through an average South African CBD.

The name Crawling King Snake derives from an old John Lee Hooker song. George says that “like many blues songs, this one is about sex, with the “king snake” a fairly obvious metaphor.

The concept for the artwork was inspired by modern day living. I suppose a few metaphors can be drawn from it, but the one I tend to use is this: How much can you take before you reach your tipping point? I like to use this as a metaphor for the world as well. How much till the earth decides its had enough?

It sounds heavy, but follow CKS on instagram and Sound Cloud to check out more of his music.

We build a lounge set in a field and wrapped the model in cling wrap.
Then in post I added the fire.
The album was released as a credit card USB drive
