On This Day
On Tuesday the 10th of July 1928, Vincent Steer founded the British Typographers Guild (BTG). On this day Mr. Steer was pushed to breaking point by the constant bombardment of poor typography, printing and craft.
This project is my creative rendition of the events that took place on this day. The content incorporates key facts, people and ideals, however is a work of fiction. The core concept was to typographically communicate a transition from the ‘chaotic’ 1900’s advertising posters, through to the introduction and influence of modernism, typographic systems and organisations such as the BTG or ISTD as we know them today.
