BIROSIGN - Biometric pen for authentication
Secure authentication is gaining importance in everyday life. To connect the biological identity of a person with their virtual identity is a long-standing challenge. The electronic signature is the gate to secure online transactions, but the authentication of users and the storage of private identification data is not reliably solved.
Handwritten gesture or merely the traditional signature requires a cooperative attitude by the signatory, and it is impossible to imitate by others. Birosign with its accurate sensors and signal processing mechanism analyses the unique signature of a person and, e.g., provides a secure and seamless login to laptops or desktops.
Our solution consists of a highly sensitive sensor system secured in a tamper-resistant chip inside a pen and an adaptive algorithm that functions as a digital handwriting expert.
Our protocol allows the real-time validation of the signature as there was a handwriting expert present during the signing process.
