Questo progetto di tesi prende in esame un romanzo già esistente per riproporlo in una forma-libro innovativa e sperimentale.
La scelta è ricaduta sul romanzo La scomparsa di Patò di Andrea Camilleri, presentato al lettore in forma di dossier: la storia infatti è raccontata attraverso una raccolta di documenti – rapporti, lettere, manifesti, scritte murali. Per la forma in cui è stato scritto, il romanzo ben si presta a una reinterpretazione grafica dei contenuti.
Durante lo sviluppo del concept, uno studio approfondito sul supporto è stato decisivo per la scelta tra differenti tipologie di carta, con lo scopo di comunicare dei messaggi precisi al lettore, attraverso sensazioni tattili e visive proprie del mezzo cartaceo.

This thesis project examines an existing novel to present it in an innovative and experimental book. The choice fell on the novel La scomparsa di Patò by Andrea Camilleri, presented to the reader in the form of a dossier: the story is in fact told through a collection of documents - reports, letters, posters, murals. For the form in which it was written, the novel lends itself well to a graphic reinterpretation of the contents. During the development of the concept an in-depth study on the support was decisive for the choice between different types of paper, with the aim of communicating precise messages to the reader through tactile and visual sensations typical of the printed medium.

I primi due capitoli sono esposti in cartelle, con i documenti in ordine cronologico così come li ha strutturati l’autore del libro. Questi servono a introdurre al lettore le dinamiche della storia e a incuriosirlo.
The first two chapters are displayed in folders, with the documents in chronological order as structured by the author of the book. These serve to introduce to the reader the dynamics of the story and to intrigue him.

[fase investigativa / investigative step]
La terza parte del progetto è racchiusa in una scatola contenente gli ultimi documenti del romanzo che, a differenza dei precedenti, non sono rilegati e si presentano in ordine casuale: spetterà al lettore ricostruire i fatti. Sulle pagine è messa in evidenza la data, così da risalire all’ordine agli accadimenti e, tramite l’ausilio di uno spago, sarà possibile ricomporre l’intero fascicolo.
The third part of the project is enclosed in a box containing the latest documents of the novel which, unlike the previous ones, are not bound and appear in random order: it will be up to the reader to rearrange the facts. On the pages the date is highlighted to trace the order of the events and, with the help of a string, it will be possible to reconstruct the entire issue.
