Distances & Densities is a poetry collection I wrote in 2009. Since then, my computer has been stolen and I have lost the original image files of the photographs that accompany the text. What you see below is taken from the low-resolution PDF.
It has been a long time since I last wrote poetry. Three years, during which I have been taking photographs for a living. Three years of spending my nights in bars, camera in hand, and coming back home in the quiet of the AM hours, of thinking aloud to myself, un-disturbed. This is how this book, about stillness and accidental collisions, was born.
Photographs are from a 2009 summer vacation in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Every evening, looking out the window of my hotel, this body of white towers struck me. And then one day, watching the sun set, I thought of them as ghost buildings.
For now, here are the images. I will add the text whenever I get a chance. Sorry.
