Did you know that it's perfectly normal to get yelled at for eating a traditional Bavarian sausage (Weißwurst) for lunch?

Since the Weißwurst is neither smoked nor preserved in any other way, it used to be dangerous to eat it any later than noon. Out-of-towners didn't have this important information so it used to be crucial to warn anyone who was about to enjoy a Weißwurst for lunch. Today it is perfectly safe to have a Weißwurst any time of day but the custom of yelling at unassuming tourists still remains to this day.
Have a Culture Break

Yes Munich is home to the Oktoberfest, beer is officially a food and it's totally okay if you take all your clothes off at the Isar, the city river. But Munich also has over 80 museums. Many of them world renowned art museums like Pinakotheken or the Museum Brandhorst in the Maxvorstadt neighborhood. Go there on a Sunday, pay only 1€ admission and enjoy a nice lunch in one of the many cafés nearby.
