PROCESS

The Bed

I used Marvelous Designer for the bed sheets, covers, pillows and canopy. The garments were created directly in Marvelous, and ZBrush was used to add wrinkles and fix geometry errors after the simulation.
Bed Throw

For the bed throw, I followed Bertrand Benoit’s process explained in his The Appartment timelapse 7 video.
I modelled the throw in 3ds Max, and used a low poly version of it as a garment in Marvelous Designer. After simulating it, I imported the mesh back into 3ds Max and used the Skin Wrap and Morpher modifiers to conform the high poly mesh to the low poly simulated version. Finally, I used ZBrush to put some extra details into the mesh (mostly wrinkles and small adjustments) and fix minor errors.
Damaged Planks

I created the damaged floor planks using ZBrush to add damage details to the plank mesh, and then textured them in Substance Painter.
Various Models

Other various models throughout the scene were created mostly using Substance Painter, ZBrush and Marvelous Designer. This project served as a great excuse to get myself more familiar and comfortable with these applications, and I’d say, at least in that regard, it was a success.
