Conta uma lenda que um dia um pastor da Absínia (atual Etiópia), chamado Kaldi, resolveu levar até um monge conhecido seu o fruto de uma planta que, segundo ele, deixava o rebanho alegre e disposto quando a ingeriam. O monge intrigado resolveu experimentar uma infusão daqueles frutos amarelo-avermelhados e percebeu que realmente a infusão dos frutos lhe ajudava a ficar mais tempo acordado durante suas meditações.

Desde seu consumo nos países árabes no século XV, o café assumiu o papel de bebida social ingerida nas cafeterias que, antes de surgirem na Europa, foram descritas similares em tabernas. Lá se podia beber, conversar e se informar das novidades. Assim, o café não se popularizou apenas por paladar mas pelas práticas e ideias atreladas a seu consumo. A primeira cafeteria do mundo surgiu na Constantinopla, em 1475, já no fim da era medieval. A torra do grão foi inaugurada nessa época e, desde então, os estabelecimentos para o consumo de café não pararam de crescer. Esses locais logo se espalharam pela Europa durante o século XVI.

O termo Condado remete a território dos períodos medievais. E quando falamos em vale, estamos remetendo a união. Assim nasceu a Condado - Café do Vale na cidade de Joaçaba/SC (Brasil), unindo pessoas e somando momentos, guiados por uma boa dose de café dentro de um ambiente agradável e hospitaleiro.

Legend has it that one day a pastor from Absintia (present-day Ethiopia) named Kaldi decided to bring to a known monk the fruit of a plant that he said made the flock happy and willing when they ate it. The intrigued monk decided to try an infusion of those reddish yellow fruits and realized that the infusion of the fruits really helped him stay awake during his meditations. Since its consumption in Arab countries in the fifteenth century, coffee has assumed the role of social drink ingested in cafes that, before appearing in Europe, were described in similar taverns. The world's first cafeteria appeared in Constantinople in 1475, towards the end of the medieval era. The roasting of the beans was inaugurated at this time and, since then, the establishments for coffee consumption have not stopped growing. These sites soon spread throughout Europe during the 16th century. The term Condado refers to the territory of the medieval periods. And when we speak of valley, we are referring to the union. Thus was born Condado - Café do Vale in the city of Joaçaba / SC (Brazil), uniting people and adding moments, guided by a good dose of coffee in a pleasant and hospitable environment.
