Completed in 2010, the Kameda House by Tadao Ando is located in the
centre of Osaka, in a densely built area. The main characteristic of this
house is its view on the Utsubo park, unusual for a Japanese house
in the city centre. It’s not surprising that the architect has prioritized
the relationship with the vegetation outside using a large opening
overlooking the park, which allows an almost intimate relationship
between cement and nature.
The main facade on the road takes second place and becomes almost
a B-side.
In her image, Sabrina Ricco shows this secondary side, less known in
Kameda’s iconography.
However, some little details suggest a relationship with nature behind
the curtain of buildings: grass and birds on the ground and on electric
cables.
