Technology Exploration I - Me As Something / Someone Else | Naomi Parker Fraley, the real Rosie the Riveter.

The real Rosie the Riveter was inspired by Naomi Parker Fraley. Dr. Kimble, an associate professor of communication and the arts at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, started his quest to find the real Rosie the Riveter in 2010. It took Dr. Kimble six years to find her. Mrs. Fraley died on January of 2018 at 96 years old.

I can't remember all the steps it took me to reach this point but I discovered how obsessive this kind of program can make you be. I believe this is the reason why I have never been so keen of trying to understand them.
For this first digital project for Technology Exploration, I decided to create a series to make the whole work appear more coherent. I also wanted to drive the viewer to make a better connection in recognizing me when reaching the latest design adventure. I invested nearly 22 hours, watched around 23 videos, read two articles and looked at many pictures I could to compare and contrast my designs. I found the following channels became very handy… and my favorites!

The assignment for all Shapes and the last one, Me as a Something or Someone Else, were the most challenging and occupied most of my time. You would be very impressed if you happened to see all the layers, extra lines and shapes hidden under those two images. Me as a Something or Someone Else reached a point were the swatches started to disappear every time I intended to apply one. So, there are some small details that I would love to fix but that at the same time I am trying to not let them bother me.
All four Explorations are my first experience working fully with Adobe Illustrator and I have to admit that… I’m really very-extra-super-incredible proud with the results!
