JORDAN
and the Desert of Wadi Rum
Jordan and Wadi Rum have fascinated me very much. Especially in the remote places you meet many people who apparently haven't come into contact with mass tourism yet, and therefore are very kind and without any "bad" experiences from the consequences of massive tourism. Of course we will not be able to prevent the tourism from "spreading" further, but I think we as travellers should lead by example to all and everyone and be respectful to people and nature in the respective countries and also on the way there! Leave nothing but footprints - Take nothings but pictures :-)
...but well, let's get to the nice things! The landscape in Jordan has completely blown me away...these mountains have such an independent effect that I really felt like I was on another planet. Especially the overnight stay in the Wadi Rum desert is something you probably won't forget for the rest of your life. I hope you like this little series !
Absolute highlights in Jordan are of course the rock city Petra and the desert Wadi Rum, but also the rest of the country is absolutely worth a trip.
