SSA Logo Design III
Created three entries for a logo design competition. Here's the 3rd entry.

A slight change in the use of color. Here, the words are in turquoise (yes, I bent the rule a little! I can't say no to this color, can I? ).

As opposed to using thick and bold typeface, I wanted something more minimalistic yet the logo should still able to standout from the crowd. And therefore serifs typeface is naturally the choice for this. Along with purely decorative function serifs are believed to play a role in the text perception mechanism by the human eyes, making the printed text easier to read.

The letter 'A' is inspired by the twisting of a sheet of paper. The middle stroke has also been extended, forming the arm of the alphabet, pointing towards a direction, as if leading the team in resolute.

A wavy stroke is also over layered to convey a sense of fluidity, motion and speed. While fundamentally it is still a graphical abstraction of Aquatic, unlike the 2 other designs, the stroke is in solid red, encapsulating the boldness and fearlessness of Singapore Aquatic athletes.

If I have to pick one, this is my favourite piece.
