Year of the Rat

The Chinese Zodiac, known as ShengQiao, is one of the classic culture symbols of China. Western Constellations is determined by the month of your birth whereas Chinese Zodiac sign is determined by the year of your birth. The Chinese Zodiac has a twelve-year cycle, which means every year in the circle matches an animal sign. The Twelve Chinese Zodiac signs are fixed on the order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each animal has its own characteristic and personality. The Ancient Chinese paid respect to these animals in order to maintain good fortune. Nowadays, people use Lunar New Year as the start of the zodiac year.

Here’s my drawing of the Twelve Chinese Zodiac signs I’m still working on.
