The Free Speech Project is a platform that tracks Free Speech events as they occur across the nation. The site and its interactive elements make it possible to analyze different types of infringement on the first amendment and the fall out of the resulting reactions to these incidents. Georgetown's Center for New Design in Learning and Scholarship was contracted to redesign the site and improve the user experience with a tracker that allows users to filter categories and view clusters of related events. We also created a curriculum to complement the tracker and use its features to study trends in these incidents.
