The principal conductor of the orchestra »Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg« is Hansjörg Angerer, acclaimed horn player and professor at Mozarteum University Salzburg and at the Nuremberg University of Music. Under his instruction, the orchestra does not only play contemporary works but also compositions from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods as well as music from the era of the Danube Monarchy. Occasionally, guest conductors are invited to perform with the orchestra, whose members come from an international variety of 24 different countries.
This CD box presents in numerous live recordings the strong cooperation of Hansjörg Angerer and composer Ernst Ludwig Leitner. All the works Ernst Ludwig Leitner has composed for wind instruments so far are joined together on these CDs.
For the design of the CD box, we used different visual compositions of scores and abstracted batons, which represent the multifacetedness of the recordings. Different colour shades again make a reference back to the wide range of works. The box contains six CDs and a comprehensive booklet.
